Arsene
Nduwayo

I design and build the software businesses in Burundi and East Africa run on: marketplaces, dealership platforms, restaurant systems and mobile apps. Today I lead Mirai Technologies.

Recent work

01 — Selected work

Recent platforms, built end to end.

Marketplaces, dealership platforms, restaurant systems and websites for companies in Burundi, from the data model to launch day.

All 13 projects

02 — Mobile apps

Software that lives in people’s pockets.

Ride-hailing for Bujumbura and ordering at a restaurant table: apps built for how people here actually move, eat and pay.

03 — What I do

From first sketch to systems that stay up.

I lead the technical side of a product end to end: what to build, how it should work, and the code that ships it.

  1. 01

    Product & platform engineering

Marketplaces, dealership inventories, booking and ordering systems, from the data model and API to the interface customers use.

    React / TypeScript / Node.js / GraphQL / REST

  2. 02

    Mobile apps

Customer apps for ordering, reservations and ride-hailing, built for the phones and networks people actually have.

React Native / Maps & location / Push notifications

  3. 03

    System design & infrastructure

APIs, databases and deployments that stay up after launch week, on Linux servers behind Nginx and Cloudflare.

    MongoDB / Redis / Nginx / Cloudflare / CI/CD

  4. 04

    Technical leadership

Scoping, architecture and delivery with small teams, and plain-language conversations with the business owners who fund the work.

Product planning / Team leadership / Client delivery

04 — Experience

Fifteen years, from code to company.

Before Mirai I worked as a web developer, full-stack engineer, tech lead and project manager, for companies in Burundi and remotely for teams in the United States. I have shipped more than thirty products: marketplaces, car dealership platforms, restaurant systems, media and non-profit websites, logistics tools, ticketing and mobile apps.
